Overview

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for pro-actively establishing an HR vision, mission, and building an HR strategic function.  Through driving organizational effectiveness and leading change, the Director of Human Resources will have proven experience and be a subject matter expert in all critical disciplines of Human Resources.  Our Ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, action oriented, self-starter who is looking to re-engineer our human resources presence.  The Director of Human Resources will be tasked with providing guidance and advice to Leadership and developing solutions within the Human Resources team.  This incumbent will develop and execute on policy and will lead all human resources functions including recruitment and talent management, compensation and benefits, training and development, employee relations, and payroll.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing strategic input on current and future corporate strategy and ensures human capital and resources for success.
  • Develop strategies, plans, and programs to identify and address skills gaps, identify, develop, and grow talent, incentivize workforce for effective performance; and position the organization to be competitive in acquiring and  retaining top talent.
  • Define and champion desired organization culture, assess alignment gaps, and develop awareness and alignment through targeted programs and training.
  • Lead and manage the HR team to develop best practices, enhance staff development, and provide superior services.
  • Share functional human capital expertise, insights, and best practices with internal clients, staff, & peers. Act as a role model on leadership, personal accountability, and business acumen.
  • Streamline and automate internal processes, taking advantage of cost effective solutions for delivering benefits, recruiting, performance assessments, merit and other compensation practices.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of broad and progressive HR leadership in an organization that values a thoughtful and progressive approach to talent management, with at least 4 years as a functional HR.
  • Demonstrated strengths in the areas of strategic planning, organizational development, performance & talent management, and hands-on traditional day to day HR work.
  • A strong business person with sense of overall business operations; enabling good judgment and interaction with management and C-Suite stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and culture change within acquisition, merger, or start-up environment.
  • Proven experience in implementing creative programs to enhance the company culture and overall employee experience and satisfaction.
  • Experience with the latest human capital technology.
  • Extensive recruiting and benefit management experience. Skilled at analyzing hiring, retention and other data to develop solutions to attract and retain the right talent for the right roles.
  • Proven leadership and management of a multi-person and multiple location HR team with a history of developing talent and high performing teams and coaching for success.
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to process improvements, cost savings and benefit enhancements.

Analytical Thinking and Decision-Making:  A "conceptualizer" of business strategies and objectives who can integrate that thinking into human capital strategies. Must have flexibility in dealing with changing and ambiguous situations.

Results-Oriented:  A driver who possesses the ability to take actions and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. Act with a sense of urgency, and a bias for action and speed.

Ethics:  The role is a visible and very personal one, therefore, must exhibit strong executive presence and the highest level of professionalism and discretion.
