  • Overview

    The Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a highly visible leadership position that will directly serve as trusted advisor to the President of eFinancial.  As a key member of the FP&A Team, this Business Partner will lead financial and variance analysis for senior leadership, as well as, drive budgeting and forecasting efforts across the enterprise.


    The ideal Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will thrive as a change agent with the ability to influence strategy and business decisions while streamlining process improvements.  This incumbent must be a self-starter skilled in financial systems navigation, data mining, and simplifying information to create clear actionable insights.

    Responsibilities


    • Serve as a trusted finance advisor and business partner to senior management team

    • Partner with the Finance Leadership Team to ensure financial objectives are aligned with strategic goals and operational division plans

    • Support presentations for the Executive Committee and Board of Directors to highlight financial trends and summarize business plans

    • Coordinate the preparation, communication, and consolidation of the Monthly Forecast, Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan for the Finance Function

    • As senior-level financial expert independently investigate anomalies and variances in data and clearly and concisely communicate the key variance drivers to executive leadership

    • Influence strategy and business decisions based on understanding and interpretation of financial and non-financial information

    • Collaborate with senior business leaders to develop both short-term and long-term financial forecasts and oversee the annual budgeting process

    • Perform industry and competitor research to inform management of industry trends

    • Lead various projects and ad-hoc reporting requests

    • Serve as subject matter expert and provide guidance to the team on various financial and business matters

    • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports

    • Manage the compilation of various rating agency and other external and internal presentations

    • Continuously look for ways to drive improvement by implementing more efficient and effective procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy

    • Assist in business specific projects as needed including cost/benefit analysis

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA in Finance or Accounting preferred 

    • 8+ years of work experience, preferably in a corporate finance setting of a multi-national or multi-location business

    • General understanding of insurance industry preferred but not required

    • Experience in working closely with different business units and helping them to improve financial performance

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively resolve complex issues

    • Takes initiative and is a self-starter

    • Proven leadership ability and able to effectively build and lead project teams

    • Ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels and within team environment

    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with proven ability to effectively interact with/present to senior leadership across the company

    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, accounting systems and applications (Oracle Hyperion/Essbase preferred), and other business-related software systems
