    As part of the Fidelity Accounting Team, the Accounting Analyst will be responsible for supporting accounting and reporting topics related to the net underwriting results of the organization with a focus on the gross insurance business on a STAT and GAAP basis. Accounting Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparation and recording of journal entries, reconciling premium and claim accounts, preparation of account reconciliations, delivering on GAAP and STAT regulatory reporting deadlines, and preparation of schedules and disclosures for the NAIC quarterly and annual statements. The Accounting Analyst will also assist with the preparation of statutory audited financial statements and support data requests related to external audits and state examinations. 


    The Accounting Analyst also has the opportunity to act as a system administrator for all finance related systems.  The Accounting Analyst will act as subject matter expert and be the main contact for the following services to the Finance department: user training, data reconcilement processes, production data loads of interfaces from third parties (and balancing these daily loads), security access, testing and evaluating system updates, steering and maintaining information to ease management reporting, maintenance of organizational structure attributes (Profit Centers and account attributes), and ensuring the data and attributes are consistent and reliable.


    • Monthly close and related processing and analysis (e.g. financial analysis, journal entry preparation)
    • Implementing, reporting, and communicating the impact of business and accounting related initiatives on assigned processes and financial statements
    • Prepares schedules and performs controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley
    • Preparations of monthly account reconciliations
    • Perform analysis of financial data, investigate fluctuations and prepare appropriate commentary or explanations for management
    • Assist in the implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
    • Maintain and enhance standard and non-standard reports in cooperation with other business units
      Perform testing and data maintenance tasks in timely manner and support training activities
    • Maintain documentation and knowledge of database
    • Steering and maintaining information to ease management reporting. The main drivers are booking and organizational structure attributes (Profit Centers and Lines of Business). make sure that the data and attributes are consistent and reliable
    • Perform other position related tasks as instructed by Supervisor



    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with at least three years of experience in an accounting related role
    • CPA or actively pursuing CPA designation
    • Accounting Knowledge: Understanding GAAP and firm accounting policies and procedure
    • Business systems knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and knowledge of SQL and Crystal reports is desirable
    • Ability to learn finance systems and perform as a subject matter expert of these systems
    • Abilty to interact with third party vendors to install updates and troubleshoot issues
