    The eFinancial and Fidelity Life Finance team is looking for a strong people leader and results-driven Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager will lead a team to drive consistent and efficient accounting operations across two business entities with an end goal of providing business critical insights through thorough analyses of accounting and financial reporting.  The Accounting Manager will have proven success in leading change initiatives, navigating through complex problems, identifying trends, and interpreting financial data. The Accounting Manager will also be fluent in various accounting systems to drive ad hoc reporting initiatives and may train others on best practices.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead a team of two accountants to supervise and monitor daily accounting activities for two business entities
    • Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, cash management, and daily accounting operations
    • Manage month-end closing activities and account reconciliations to complete a timely and accurate monthly close process
    • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
    • Demonstrate working business knowledge of each entity of operation and lead staff in development opportunities
    • Collaborate with peers in the Accounting and Finance function to drive process efficiencies and bring best practices to each business entity
    • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting controls and best practices according to GAAP, SOX requirements, and state laws and regulations   
    • Provide financial analytics and insights to Accounting and Company leadership teams

    Qualifications

    • 3 years management experience with leading accounting teams and direct reports
    • 3-5 years direct experience with accounting operations including daily journal entries, GL, account reconciliations and month-end close process
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
    • Strong knowledge of commission and revenue recognition, and working knowledge of the insurance and brokerage industry
    • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously and to work under tight deadlines
    • Ability to work effectively across functions, organizational levels, and within a team environment
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with proven ability to effectively interact with senior leadership across the company
    • Strong verifiable knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, accounting systems and applications (Oracle Hyperion/Essbase preferred), and other business-related software systems

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related business field
    • Five or more years of financial reporting and analysis experience
    • Public company audit or accounting experience
    • CPA preferred
